Big warming trend then cooler
A building ridge of high pressure means a warming trend and quiet weather the next few days.
The ridge will be directly over western Montana by Wednesday, which means temperatures will quickly warm to above normal. Clear to partly cloudy skies with lows in the 40s to lower 50s and highs in the 70s to lower 80s Tuesday and the 80s to around 90 Wednesday.
The ridge will shift east and allow a southwest flow to return to the area late Thursday and Friday. That means a good chance of showers and thunderstorms Thursday night and Friday, with some strong storms.
The front will bring much cooler air to the region by the weekend. Highs only in the 50s and 60s this weekend, which is well below normal.
