Break from the rain, but more is on the way


SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY for has been issued for Southwestern Missoula County and Northern Ravalli County until 1pm Friday. Bass Creek, Sweeney Creek, and Kootenai Creek are beginning to spill out of their banks. There will be a slight rise today, but water should begin to drop this afternoon.

High pressure is building across the west. This means a brief break from the rain for all areas today and Saturday. The main travel impacts will be for areas of fog this Saturday and Sunday mornings. Daytime highs will be in the 40s with lows in the 20s and 30s.

We are tracking a cold front that will bring another round of rain and mountain snow to the region Sunday night and Monday. Mountain passes could see accumulating snow by the Monday morning commute.
