Flood advisories cover parts of area

Pacific moisture continues to flow across western Montana and a cold front will move through the region Wednesday night.

FLOOD ADVISORY until 11:30 am Thursday for Gallatin, Beaverhead, Broadwater and Madison Counties of southwest Montana and until 1 pm Thursday for Sanders and Minderal Counties in west central Montana.

A cold front will enhance the rainfall for a period of time overnight as it moves through the northern Rockies. Behind the front, snow levels will drop and the valley could see both rain and snow showers before the precipitation ends by Thursday afternoon. Lows Wednesday night in the 30s to lower 40s with highs Thursday in the 40s.

A break from the precipitation on Friday with highs warming to the upper 40s and 50s.

Another cold front will move through the area this weekend. In advance of it, warmer air will move into the region with highs Saturday in the mid 50s to mid 60s, making it the warmest day thus far this year. There will be a chance of showers west of the divide and area wide Saturday night and Sunday. Cooler Sunday with highs in the 40s to lower 50s.
