Heavy snow showers Sunday evening

Much of the region remains under Winter Weather Advisories as bands of moderate to heavy snowfall make for rapidly changing conditions. Another 1 to 3 inches of snowfall is possible this evening in the valleys while high elevations and pass areas will see 3 to 7 inches.

We'll get a brief break from snowfall late Sunday night with showers dissipating from west to east. Lows will be in the teens and 20s. Monday will see scattered snow develop during the day with showers producing light to moderate accumulations. Highs will be in the upper 20s to mid 30s.

Tuesday night and early Wednesday will see a heavier round of snowfall move across areas west of the divide while Butte and Bozeman see only light snow showers.

Thursday through next weekend is beginning to show a trend in the computers of being much snowier and colder. Next weekend could be packing some of the chilliest weather we've seen for a few weeks as cold Canadian air drops down into the central Montana plains. We'll be keeping a close eye on that timeframe over the next few days.
