Megaload moves into Montana
DARBY, Mont. - A company hauling a huge load of evaporating equipment to an oil sands project in Alberta, Canada has finally been able to bring the load into Montana. The Ravalli Republic reports the 380-foot long, 450-ton load traveled over Lost Trail Pass into Montana and stopped south of Darby early Monday, where it drew crowds throughout the day. The load began moving at about 10 p.m. Monday, rumbled through Hamilton at about midnight and stopped at the Lolo weigh scales. The next leg of the trip will take the load through Missoula and on Interstate 90 to Bonner before it heads north to the Port of Sweetgrass. A second, smaller load, was parked in Salmon, Idaho and a third and final load is in Oregon, waiting to begin its move.
