Morning fog, showers arrive this evening
It's a frosty start this morning with many areas experiencing patchy areas of fog.
We are tracking a cold front that will bring the threat of rain and snow to the areas later today. Valley locations will start as rain with higher elevations beginning to see accumulating snow. Daytime highs will be in the 40s with overnight lows in the 20s.
Gusty winds are expected early Thursday with rain changing to snow in the valleys as cooler air settled in behind the front on Thursday, but accumulations are expected to be light. Snow showers will continue into Thursday night and Friday morning. Models are hinting at the potential for the development of snow bands. This means a quick, narrow band of accumulating snow may develop. Travel will likely be impacted by slick and snow covered roadways, especially for the the Friday morning commute.
The weekend looks mostly dry with high temperatures only reaching the 30s before the next possible weather system moves through Sunday night and into Monday.
