Rain and snow possible tonight, but drier days ahead
We area tracking chances of rain and snow showers tonight throughout western Montana. This may cause hazardous travel on area mountain passes with several inches of snow possible. Below 4000 feet will see mainly rain. Above 4000 feet may see a between a dusting and an inch of snow. Overnight lows will dip to near 30 in the Missoula/Kalispell areas, but will be in the 20s in SW Montana.
A few showers will linger into Saturday, but the overall weekend forecast looks dry as a weak area of high pressure makes it way into the area. Highs this weekend will be in the upper 30s and 40s. Overnight lows will be in the upper teens and 20s.
We are keeping our eyes on a storm system that will bring an increasing chance of rain and snow to the area starting Monday evening in NW Montana and continuing area-wide through the middle of the work week, We will update you as we get closer to the event.
