Rain, snow linger overnight, sun returns for the weekend


Rain and snow showers will continue today and linger into tonight before clearing Saturday morning.

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY: For high elevations including all mountain passes west of the divide. The advisory is for 1 to 3 inches of additional snowfall with locally higher amounts possible. The advisory is set to expire at 9PM.

Temperatures overnight will be on the chilly side, ranging from near 20 degrees in Butte to the upper 20s in the Missoula and Kalispell area.

High pressure starts to build back in Saturday afternoon, but temperatures will still be well below normal as temperatures will top out in the low to mid 40s area wide. A warming trend will occur Sun-Tue, as high temps will be near 60 on Tuesday.
