Significant snow possible tonight
WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY until 11 AM for all areas west of the divide, including the Missoula, Butte and Kalispell areas and all passes east of the divide, including near Bozeman. Additional snow accumulation of up to 2 inches in the valleys and 3 to 6 inches in the mountains.
Scattered snow showers this morning for areas west of the divide. Snowcovered roads will slow traffic for the morning commute. The snow will mix with and change to rain along and south of I-90 as high temperatures warm in to the 30s and lower 40s.
It will be a different story for northwest Montana. An arctic front will move through, keeping temperatures in the 20s and 30s. A WINTER STORM WARNING has been posted for northwest Montana late Thursday through early Friday. The heaviest snow will fall along and north of HWY 2. Over a foot of snow will be possible in Polebridge and Eureka. Snow totals will be near a foot for Kalispell and Whitefish.
A break from the precipitation on Saturday with rain and snow returning on Sunday this weekend.
