Valley rain, mountain snow expected
We are tracking a cold front that will bring rain and snow to western Montana today. A couple inches of snow will be possible over Lookout Pass, Lolo Pass and Lost Trail Pass. Behind the front, periods of rain, snow and graupel showers into Friday evening. Winds will be breezy with gusts exceeding 20 mph. Highs in the mid 40s to mid 50s.
Further cooling Saturday with highs in the 40s. A break from the precipitation Saturday and then another chance of rain and snow on Sunday. Over an inch of rain is possible in the higher elevations. Burn scars could experience rock and mudslides.
A nice weather pattern is expected next week with partly to mostly sunny days with highs warming back to the 50s to around 60.
