Warming holiday weekend with a toasty Fourth of July

A warm and pleasant weekend is in store for most in our area. Expect lots of sunshine with lows in the 50s and highs in the low to mid 80s on Saturday and mid to upper 80s on Sunday.

There will be a chance for an isolated storm or two both afternoons as a weak disturbance moves across the area. An isolated storm or two will develop south of I-90 in southwest Montana and track northeast. Even in the backcountry however, outdoor activities before 3 p.m. should have no issue. Overall rain chances will sit at 20 percent in these areas through the weekend.

Expect even warmer conditions Monday and on the 4th of July. Highs will start to reach up into the 90s by the holiday and will stay in the 90s for the rest of the week. Conditions will remain dry with the exception of another round of isolated storms Thursday night.

Fire danger currently stands at Moderate across our area, but could rise as area grass and brush continue to turn from green to brown.
