We area tracking a cold front that will bring a better chance of rain and snow Thursday night in southwest Montana around Butte and Bozeman. This front will also bring widespread wind concerns to the region.
HIGH WIND WATCH Thursday afternoon and night for most areas west of the divide, including Missoula, Butte and Kalispell. West southwest winds 15 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. The main concerns will be power outages from downed trees and strong crosswinds may make travel hazardous for high profile vehicles.
The front will also bring the risk of a brief period of slushy, wet snow over mountain passes Thursday evening as snow levels begin to lower. No major travel impacts at this time due to snow.
Cooler behind the front as highs drop to the 40s Friday and this weekend with lows back to the 20s and lower 30s.
