1 dead in I-90 crash near Superior
SUPERIOR, Mont. - A semitrailer driver is dead after a crash on Interstate 90 Monday evening near Superior.
Montana Highway Patrol said the crash happened on eastbound I-90 near Superior just before 9 p.m.
The semi lost control, slammed into a concrete barrier and then jackknifed.
Troopers say the driver got out to assess the damage and was struck by an SUV.
The semi driver, who was 65-years-old and from California, died on scene. The driver of the SUV, a 66-year-old man from Alberton, was not injured, troopers said.
The name of the victim has not been released.
MHP reports there have been 22 fatalities on Montana highways so far in 2017.
