Alleged assault prompts investigations at Hyalite Elementary
BOZEMAN, Mont. - Two investigations are underway after a teacher's aide allegedly struck a student at Hyalite Elementary School.
According to the calls for service, Bozeman Police responded to the reported assault late Thursday afternoon.
Police Chief Ron Price with the Bozeman Police Department says his department is currently investigating the matter.
The complaint, made by the parent of the student reported to have been struck, is currently being investigated separately by the Bozeman School District.
Bozeman Schools Superintendent Robert Watson told us, "Every situation is a little different but we don't take anything lightly. We take all concerns that are brought to us seriously and we complete an investigation to determine the facts before we make any decisions."
Watson says it is typical in these situations for employees to be placed on paid leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
