Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest hiring summer workers

BUTTE, Mont. - The Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest is seeking applicants for the 2018 summer season. Firefighting, recreation, customer service and engineering workers are needed.

Butte-Jefferson District Ranger Dave Sabo said the bulk of their work is done in the summer.

He said he needs over 100 summer employees to start mid-May.

With last year's intense fire season, Sabo said you can't be prepared enough.

"Last season it was predicted here in the Northern Rockies that it was going to be below average, and you see what happened. Regardless of what does happen, we have to be prepared, because that's time when we do get our seasonals on board. We get our work completed," Sabo said.
