Belgrade PD to get prescription drug drop box

BELGRADE, Mont. - The Belgrade Police Department could have a prescription drug drop-off box installed by the end of the week. Elks Lodge #463 paid for the box, giving Belgrade Police $695 for the secure box. Belgrade PD will be responsible for making sure the drop box is secure and the drops offs are confidential. The Missouri River Drug Task Force coordinates drug pick-ups and disposals. Chief Clark tells us it is something they have looked into for the past few years. "I do know of people from Belgrade who have drive all the way to Bozeman to the Law and Justice center to drop things off, where if they added one here, it could be a lot more convenient and I think if it is convenient, people will do it, instead of just storing these things in their cabinet and around their homes, and they can actually get rid of them, and its easy for them," said Clark. Clark says they have not decided on an exact location for the drop box at this point.
