Bozeman falls behind with street plowing
BOZEMAN, Mont. —
Icy conditions can be found on roads across the Gallatin Valley. Montana Highway Patrol responded to several calls about slide-offs around southwest Montana.
At the local level, the Bozeman Streets Department has struggled to keep up with storms pounding the area. Streets superintendent John Vandelinder said he has received several calls from people in neighborhoods that have not been plowed.
“We are behind. Our goal is always to get the entire city done in seven days, and we're into week two now. We're just getting caught up to where we'd like to be. We still have some streets left that have not been plowed since around Christmastime, so we're in those neighborhoods now,” Vandelinder said.
Over the next day Vandelinder said his crews will continue to focus on residential areas. When the next storm rolls in they will also be plowing the main roads at the same time.
