Bozeman Police offer icy, fun way to spend President's Day

BOZEMAN, Mont. - If you've got the day off for President's Day on Monday, we've got a refreshing idea for you- a nice, cold polar bear plunge for a good cause.

The Bozeman Police Department is hosting the 13th annual Law Enforcement President's Day Plunge to raise money for Special Olympics Montana.

Contestants who sign up give $100, and raise money for their team. They can make the icy dip fun by dressing up.

A hot tub waits nearby to warm jumpers up after after their chilling swim.

Incentives from T-shirts to an iPod Shuffle are given out based on how much money a person raises.

Contestants can also get awards, like the Golden Plunger (most money raised) and and Best Dressed.

The plunge is on Monday, February 17th at noon at the East Gallatin Recreation Area.

You can still sign up and jump in on the fun- to do that, click here.

According to the fund raising site, teams have collected over $41,000 so far.
