MISSOULA, Mont. —
The following was sent out by Missoula Parks and Recreation:
City contractors will start burning slash piles on Mt. Sentinel tomorrow, March 14. Smoke may be visible from the valley floor. Residents may see vehicles along Mt. Sentinel’s fire road. The contractor has an active burn permit for the project and fire departments/agencies are aware of the activity.
This is a joint City/UM project to thin almost 70 acres of forest on Mount Sentinel, which is fully funded by a $67,000 grant awarded to the City by the DNRC. For more information, contact Parks and Recreation Conservation Lands Manager Morgan Valliant, 552-6263.
