Butte hospital unveils new drug disposal bin for public use
BUTTE, Mont. - St. James Healthcare unveiled a new Medsafe disposal bin for residents to use to dispose of prescription drugs. The bin was paid for by a $2,000 grant awarded to St. James Healthcare from a state-funded program.
Officials told us the disposal bin is important to help stop misuse of dangerous drugs.
Before thi, the only place to dispose of drugs in Butte was the Butte-Silver Bow Law Enforcement Department.
"Many people feel a little uncomfortable going to the police station," said registered pharmacist Angie Goodell. "It is much more convenient if you can just come to the hospital and put your items in the bin."
Hospital officials said they have already emptied one full bin.
