Butte man charged with killing infant daughter wants new trial


BUTTE, Mont. - A Butte man, found guilty of killing his infant daughter, was back in court Friday. Matthew Blaz is asking the judge for a new trial. He is currently awaiting sentencing after a jury found him guilty of killing his 58-day-old daughter. In court, Blaz claimed a neighbor boy dropped his daughter causing the injuries. the state medical examiner said an autopsy found Blaz's daughter died of abusive head trauma. The judge said he will take the motion for a new trial under advisement.
