City grants permit for work on Cabela's store in Missoula
MISSOULA, Mont. - Owners now have a permit to start work on a Cabela's store in Missoula.
The sporting goods outpost will be part of a larger retail center called South Crossing, replacing what was a K-Mart at the south end of Missoula on Brooks and Reserve Street.
"We just issued the Cabela's permit so they should be starting pretty quick," said Don Verrue, the assistant director of development services. "I talked to the general contractor this week; he thought maybe they would start digging this week sometime."
Crews were on site Friday finishing to clear the grounds but Verrue said they still don't have permit or plans yet for Kohl's department store.
"We're looking to see their plans probably the beginning to first part of spring next year."
