Construction work begins on new Missoula College

MISSOULA, Mont. - Missoula College is getting ready to break ground for a new building. The college will be on East Broadway, east of the Eastgate Shopping Center

Crews are in the very beginning stages right now but the groundbreaking should be in the next couple of weeks.

Construction crews are prepping the ground for construction. They're working on closing off the parking lot and getting the ground ready to start construction on March 12.

The new Missoula College is a $32 million project, and they received $29 million from the state two years ago.

"Right now we're getting started for phase one of the project and phase one basically means that we'll be laying utilities and starting the excavation," said University of Montana VP for Integrated Communications Peggy Kuhr.

The university expects the project to be done by summer 2017, with classes hopefully starting that fall.
