Election departments work to secure polling places
BOZEMAN, Mont. - Counties across Montana are busy planning for May's special U.S. House election.
The Gallatin County election office tells us they are working to secure locations.
Flathead County is preparing for a full poll election.
Gov. Steve Bullock set May 25 as Election Day. It's a problem for some, because late May is graduation time for some schools. Some polling places will be unavailable.
All but one of Gallatin County's polling places are secured. Election Administrator Charlotte Mills says two precincts may have to be combined.
Gallatin County workers anticipate a challenge aside from confirming location.
"We have a lot of election judges who have grandchildren who are out of state or in other counties and have to go for graduations or for weddings. That's the one problem we think we will have is trying to get enough election judges," said Mills.
