Missoula emergency crews respond to house fire


MISSOULA, Mont. - Authorities say one person was hospitalized for smoke inhalation at a house fire in Missoula.

The Missoula Fire Department responded to a house fire at 2026 S. 12th St. West Saturday night.

Reports say when emergency crews first arrived on scene there were flames coming out of a bedroom window.

Authorities say initial reports told them the residence was empty. However, crews say they found one resident inside fighting the fire with a garden hose. Reports say that person was evacuated immediately .

Officials say the fire was declared out just after 11 p.m.

Battalion Chief Derek Mullins says it was a busy night for emergency crews. He says multiple calls for service came in during the fire.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
