First Alert Forecast: Afternoon thunder threat for southwest Montana


The chance for seeing severe weather is moderate for Butte and Bozeman today. Showers and thunderstorms will develop across much of southwest Montana today. Thunderstorms capable of producing gusty winds and small hail will begin to impact Butte and Bozeman after 12 pm. Isolated storms are possible for Kalispell and Missoula. Outside of the thunder threat, look for mostly sunny skies with highs in the 80s to low 90s. A similar forecast for Tuesday. Afternoon thunderstorms will develop again with the best location across southwest Montana. Missoula has a chance for weak storms Monday and Tuesday, while Kalispell will largely be left out. Temperatures will be it the 80s close to 90s this week for Missoula and Kalispell. Butte and Bozeman will be a bit more comfortable with highs in the 70s and low 80s.
