MISSOULA, Mont. - A very calm and warmer weather pattern is developing across the northern Rockies as we head on through the weekend and through next week, including July Fourth on Tuesday. High pressure will build into the region, bringing a noticeable warming and much drier weather.

We can expect sunny, warm days and clear, cool night through the middle of next week. Lows in the upper 40s and 50s.

Highs in the 70s in the Butte and Bozeman areas Friday with 80s in Missoula and Kalispell. Highs will be in the 80s area wide this weekend through Tuesday.

By the latter half of next week, highs will warm into the 90s in many areas as models are now showing a possible heat wave by the end of next week.

The exception to the dry weather will be late Saturday.

A weak storm system will swing through western Montana. Moisture will be lacking, so there is only a slight chance of an isolated shower or thunderstorm across southwest Montana. Outflow winds would be the one thing that might impact the region. Very little rain should reach the ground.

Gusty winds will also form this weekend and early next week. West southwest winds may gust up to 20 mph each afternoon.
