Group appeals DNRC’s ruling on the Creston water bottling plant
KALISPELL, Mont. —
The group Water for Flathead’s Future filed an appeal to District Court Friday over the Department of Natural Resources and Conservation’s decision to allow a water bottling plant in Creston.
Ferguson Law Office in Missoula filed the document electronically around 4 p.m. on Friday. They said the judge should see it sometime next week.
For a couple years the group has been trying to stop the Montana Artesian Water Company from building a water bottling plant in Creston that would produce 1.2 billion bottles a year.
The water rights granted to the company by the DNRC on Jan. 26 would allow the bottling plant to be able to pull 450 gallons of water per minute.
