Heavy snow through early Friday
WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY for all of NBC Montana through early Friday. Snowfall of 6 to 12 inches in the Kalispell area, 2 to 4 inches in Bozeman and 1 to 3 inches in Missoula and Butte. The heaviest snow will fall from Lincoln County east to Kalispell and southeast to the Swan Lake and Seeley Lake areas.
WINTER STORM WARNING from Glacier Park south to the Swan Lake area and the mountains west of Missoula. Snowfall of 1 to 2 and a half feet in the mountains of west central and northwest Montana. Snowfall up to 8 inches in the mountains of southwest Montana.
The next weather maker is moving into western Montana. A huge surge of moisture will interact with a stalled arctic front. This will bring a good chance of widespread snow to most of the region. In the milder air west of the front, the snow may mix with or change to rain. The best chance of this will be in the Bitteroot Valley.
The snow will gradually diminish early Friday. However, models now indicate that there will continue to be a chance of snow through Saturday across northwest Montana, including the Kalispell area. The rest of NBC Montana will see mostly dry weather this weekend. Highs will generally be in the 30s with lows in the 20s.
Another storm system will bring a chance of snow on Tuesday across mainly northwest Montana.
