BOZEMAN, Mont. - Over 1 million Kia and Hyundai vehicles are being recalled in the United States due to engine problems. If you hear a knocking sound coming from your engine when you accelerate, your car might be affected. The cars' check engine or oil lights may also come on if affected. A Kia employee told NBC Montana the recall does not mean the affected cars are unsafe to drive, but that the cars' engines may need to be replaced. Here is the full list of vehicles that are affected in the United States: Hyundai Santa Fe Sport SUVs, 2013 to 2014 Hyundai Sonata midsize cars, 2013 to 2014 Kia Optima midsize cars, 2011 to 2014 Kia Sportage SUVs, 2011 to 2013 Kia Sorento SUVs, 2012 to 2014 Hyundai, a Kia affiliate, is sending out a reimbursement form to people who own one or more of the recalled vehicles. Hyundai officials say dealers will inspect and replace the engine once the form is filled out.
