Inmate escapes from Montana State Prison


DEER LODGE, Mont. - The following is a news release from the Montana State Prison.

"Inmate Dean Randolph Jess #2094346

At approximately, 11:00 a.m. today, July 1, 2013, Inmate Dean Randolph Jess #2094346 escaped from Montana State Prison.

Inmate Jess was working for Motor Vehicle Maintenance on a service call when he left prison property. The vehicle Inmate Jess was traveling in was found abandoned on the southern perimeter of the prison ranch.

We do not know his mode of travel or the direction he may be heading at this time. Inmate Jess has worked in Motor Vehicle Maintenance since 9-15-2006. Inmate Jess was wearing a blue shirt and pants.

He is 5'10" tall, medium build and 180 pounds. He is a white male, 42 years of age, green eyes, and shaved head.

Please see the attached CON Site picture and physical description of this offender. Emergency procedures have been activated and law enforcement agencies in the surrounding areas have been notified.

The Department of Corrections considers any escapee dangerous and urges you to contact local law enforcement if you have any information on this offender. "

NBC Montana did some digging and found Jess out of Park County is serving time for a sexual crime and failure to register as sexual offender.
