I-90 crash in Montana claims 2 lives
MISSOULA, Mont. - The Montana Highway Patrol says two people have died in a crash involving a truck and a car on I-90 near Missoula.
The sheriff's office, Montana Highway Patrol and the coroner have confirmed that Deborah Alteneder, 22, from Missoula and 23-year-old Joshua Creel of Liberty, Indiana were killed in the crash Tuesday. The crash was caused by driving in severe weather conditions.
Trooper Tyler Swartz says the crash occurred shortly after 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Swartz said the initial investigation indicates a passenger car heading east on the interstate lost control, crossed the median and collided with a semitrailer.
The driver and passenger in the car were both killed.
Swartz said their names are being withheld pending notification of the family.
The truck driver was not seriously injured and did not have to be transported to the hospital.
