Meth suspect arrested with help from MHP, helicopter
BASIN, Mont. - A Montana man under federal indictment for meth distribution was arrested Wednesday after trying to escape law enforcement by running into the woods near Basin.
Eventually the suspect, Richard Dean Miller, got a ride and headed toward Idaho on Interstate 90.
The U.S. Marshals office in Helena called Montana Highway Patrol to send up a chopper for aerial support.
Officers arrested Miller just short of the Idaho state line.
Miller is being held in the Yellowstone County Jail in Billings.
The U.S. Marshals office says Miller was under investigation for a while, and the search lasted several days.
