Mountain Water sale up for final approval Thursday
MISSOULA, Mont. - The Missoula City Council is scheduled to meet Thursday afternoon to sign off on the final agreement to purchase Mountain Water Company.
While the city of Missoula and Mountain Water owners have agreed to a purchase price, questions remain over disputed property taxes and litigation costs. In order to cover the possibility that those expenses would fall on the city, the council will likely approve an amendment authorizing the sale of another $2.9 million in general fund obligation bonds to cover the expenses, if needed.
The council meets Thursday at 3 p.m. to approve the water company settlement.
