No proposals for lot, Butte looks to make green space

BUTTE, Mont. - The city is focusing on making the old Brincks and Deluxe lot into a green space with parking. Monday night was the deadline for developers to come forward with proposals, but the city received none. Butte's community development director said the city will now look at putting in a gateway sign, welcoming visitors to Uptown Butte. They want to incorporate historic building materials into the design. "I think it's a great idea and I think it will add value to that corner and to the street, and to that corridor of Front Street, because people are really taking care of that corridor," said Karen Byrnes. Byrnes hopes the project will be completed by this summer.
