Not done yet: Lady Griz earn spot in WNIT

MISSOULA, Mont. - After losing to North Dakota in the Big Sky Tournament championship game, the Lady Griz will not be making a return trip to the NCAA tournament this year. However the squad found out just 48 hours later that their season is not yet over.

On Monday the Montana women's basketball team earned an at-large bid into the Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT). 64 teams compete in the annual postseason tournament.

To make things more exciting, the Lady Griz (22-10, 14-6 BSC) have been awarded the right to host their first round game on Wednesday night as the Washington State Cougar will come to Missoula and take on Montana.

WSU finished with an overall record of 17-16 this season after they lost out in the semifinals of the PAC-12 tournament.

Wednesday's game will tip-off at 7:00 inside Dahlberg Arena. The winner of that contest in Missoula will advance to take one the winner of the San Diego-Cal Poly game being played Thursday at San Diego.

Tickets for Wednesday's game go on sale Tuesday morning at 8:30 a.m. Season ticket holders will have until 1 p.m. to purchase their seats.
