One killed in motorcycle accident near Stevensville
Missoula, MONT. —
MHP reports the accident occurred last night, July 7th at 18:25 (6:25 P.M.) in Ravalli county near Stevensville at Mile Marker 18.5 on Secondary road 269. One vehicle was involved one person was killed. Alcohols and speed are suspected. Road conditions were dry and it's a secondary roadway. The accident occurred in day light. The vehicle was a Kawasaki motorcycle driven by a 55-year-old male from Stevensville who was DOA. He was wearing a helmet.
The vehicle was southbound on Secondary 269 traveling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle failed to negotiate a gentle left-hand curve. The vehicle ran off the right-side of the roadway striking a wooden fence killing the driver. This is the 77th fatal accident on a Montana roadway this year.
