Power restored for residents in Belgrade area
MISSOULA, Mont. - NorthWestern Energy spokesman Butch Larcombe said on the company's Twitter page that all power has been restored to residents in the Belgrade-Manhattan area.
Crews responded to repair a downed transmission line.
Some 1,600 Manhattan customers had power restored by 3:30 p.m. and the remaining power was restored by 4:18, according to a Twitter update.
More than 15,000 people were without power in the Belgrade, Amsterdam, Manhattan, Riverside and Jackrabbit areas. Crews also addressed issues west of Belgrade and in the East Gallatin area.
Larcombe said, "Part of the transmission line conductor (is) on the ground south of Belgrade along Jackrabbit Lane. It is not clear what caused the line to go down."
High call volume during the outage maxed out the company's phone system, Larcombe reported on Twitter.
