Road construction underway on Rouse Avenue
BOZEMAN, Mont. - Crews in Bozeman are gearing up for a complete reconstruction of North Rouse Avenue. Utility work is already under way from Oak Street to Bond Street.
On April 11 and 12, North Rouse Avenue will be closed for railroad crossing replacement. In future months the road may be reduced to one-lane traffic, and there could be delays and detours.
When the work is finished drivers can expect to see widened roads with bike lanes and completed sidewalks. The project also includes a new storm drain system, water system and sanitary sewer system.
With up to 10,000 cars driving through North Rouse Avenue daily the goal of the project is to develop a roadway better suited to the needs of a growing community.
The project is expected to take all summer, with a completion date of October. The total cost will be close to $5 million
