Suspect in custody for Corvallis church burglary and vandalism

MISSOULA, Mont. - One suspect is in custody in connection with a burglary at a Corvallis church.

The Ravalli County sheriff released the following press release:

Sheriff Steve Holton reported that on 03-10-2017, a 26-year-old male was arrested in connection to a burglary at the Corvallis Methodist Church that occurred sometime during the night of March 3rd or early morning of March 4th.

Holton said Matthew McClune of Hamilton was arrested for allegedly forcing entry into the church and vandalizing the interior, as well as forging financial documents belonging to the church.

Sheriff Holton thanked Ravalli County Sheriff's Detective Scott Burlingham for his diligent work identifying and locating the suspect so quickly. The male is facing felony charges of burglary, criminal mischief and forgery.

Holton stated the investigation is continuing, and more information will be released at a later date.
