Suspects wanted in string of Lake Co. burglaries


MISSOULA, Mont. - A string of burglaries had Lake County authorities on the run early Tuesday morning, and the thieves didn't appear to be after money.

The first alarm came in at 4:30 a.m. from Ronan Sports and Western. Eight minutes later, deputies found broken glass but no suspects.

About 45 minutes later an alarm at the Depoe Junction Pawn Shop in Polson had police on the scene in four minutes, but no suspects were found.

Shortly after 6 a.m. a third case was reported, when a car drove through the door of Westland Seed in Ronan. When authorities arrived, the car was still running and several guns were missing, but the burglars were gone.

investigators say the car had been stolen from the Ronan airport.
