Tree falls on car, knocks out power
MISSOULA, Mont. - An eyewitness told NBC Montana a tree fell on a van and knocked out power and a power line. The call came in right around 5 p.m. Officials and crews were on the scene near the Maclay bridge cleaning up debris from the tree.
The witness says a man and his kids were in the van. They were startled and drove off. There were no injuries reported.
A sheriff's deputy is at the Maclay bridge, telling motorists to turn around.
The witness said she was looking outside of her house to make sure that no trees would fall on her house when she suddenly saw a tree fall near it.
"It was slow motion, just come down and fall, and there was a van that was just a few feet away when the tree landed on it. It was all really slow motion," said Missoula resident Karin Bartels.
Officials say they are not sure when the power will come back on. We will update this article as soon as more information becomes available.
