Troops to Teachers receives grant
BOZEMAN, Mont. - The Department of Defense awarded Troops to Teachers' Lewis and Clark regional program a $716,000 grant Thursday.
Troops to Teachers is a nationwide organization that helps veterans navigate through the teacher certification process.
The Lewis and Clark Region spans across Montana, Idaho, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Wyoming and Washington.
Since its inception 952 veterans have been placed into teaching roles across the region.
Le Gaub, the program manager for the Lewis and Clark Region, told NBC Montana it's a seamless transition.
"Veterans are proud to finish one career or time in the military, and now transition into another career where they can serve their country," Gaub said. "The real significance of it, to me, is that everybody involved wins."
