Unsettled weather for the upcoming week
Low clouds and patchy areas of fog will be possible through the morning commute. A ridge of high pressure will transition across the region today, keeping some of us under mostly sunny skies. The exception will be across southwest Montana where a few flurries may develop. High temperatures will be in the 30s and 40s.
The next weather maker will arrive Tuesday afternoon. It will bring a wintry mix to valley locations and snow to the higher elevations. This system appears to be moisture-starved and any precipitation in the valleys will be very light. Mountain locations could pick up a few inches of snow.
A more significant storm system is set to move in Thursday and Friday bringing with it much more Pacific moisture. A rain and snow mix Thursday may transition to all snow by Friday. Moderate accumulations are possible.
