Woman found dead in Flathead River still unidentified

KALISPELL, Mont. - The body of an unidentified woman was found in Flathead River on Tuesday night.

A passerby found the woman's body just south of the Teakettle Fishing Access near Columbia Falls around 10 p.m.

The body was sent to the crime lab in Missoula. Officials are still working to identify the woman, but they believe they will have the identity soon.

"We're still working on positive identification. We have some ideas, but within the next day we'll have a little more information on who she is for sure," said Flathead County Sheriff Chuck Curry.

This is the third body found in Flathead River this year.
