Annie Hill named Gatorade Track Athlete of the Year

Missoula, MONT. - With Billings' Christina Aragon out of the Montana prep picture and now running at Stanford, this spring allowed Kalispell's Annie Hill to take the spotlight and run with it.

Thursday Hill became the first track standout in Glacier High history to be named Montana Gatorade Athlete of the Year.

The 5-foot-2 junior distance runner captured three individual state titles this spring and led the Wolfpack to a second-place finish at the class AA state meet.

Hill pulled off the distance trifecta by winning the 800 meter, 1600 meter and 3200 meter runs.

In addition, last week she finished fourth in the mile at the Brooks PR Invitational which is one of the most prestigious high school track meets in the country.

Hill has achieved all of this athletic success while maintaining a 4.0 GPA in the classroom. She also is an accomplished musician and volunteers at the local Boys and Girls Club.

This is Hill's second career Gatorade award after she also took home the honor for cross country as a sophomore.
