Bozeman High boys win cross country national title


PORTLAND, Or. - The Bozeman Hawks boys cross country team went to Portland ranked in the top ten and they left as the best team in the country.

Senior Chase Equall was the top finisher for the Hawks, finishing 26th overall with a time of 16:08.4.

Duncan Hamilton, a Bozeman junior finished 52nd overall with a time of 16:26.6.

Not far behind, Riley Collins, Orrin Clark and Leonard McComas rounded out the Bozeman top finishers as the whole team finished inside of the top 70 runners.

The Hawks scored 105 points, 36 points ahead of the second place team to take the 2016 national title.

The Bozeman girls also had a strong showing, finishing 8th in the country. Camila Noe was the top girls finisher with a time of 18:29.2 for a 35th place finish.
