MSU Athletics releases strategic plan
BOZEMAN, Mont. - After completing one year on the job, Montana State Athletic Director Leon Costello has laid out his goals for Bobcat Athletics in the near future by releasing a five-year strategic plan.
Behind its vision statement, new mission statement and set of core values, Montana State Athletics has identified seven themes which will set the course for the department from 2017-2021.
During the planning process, MSU consulted with CarrSports and received input from several stakeholder groups including University leadership, coaches, staff, student-athletes and fans.
"It was a lot of work, and a lot of people put time and effort into it, but now we need to implement the plan," Costello said. "This is our road map of our operations and how we're going to get to where we need to go."
The seven strategic themes include student-athlete well-being and performance; competitive excellence; championship quality facilities; learning and leading; financial responsibility and sustainability; inclusion, diversity and respect; and engagement.
Each of the seven themes contains several goals to chart progress and accountability, and they can all be found here.
