A woman was life-flighted after illegally entering Yellowstone National Park and falling into a thermal feature.

Yellowstone National Park officials confirmed a woman illegally entered the park Tuesday morning and fell into a thermal feature at Old Faithful.

The park told NBC Montana that they do not know which thermal feature she fell in, but added she was backing up to take photos.

Officials say she suffered burns.

Yellowstone National Park confirmed the woman drove north after the incident, and park rangers contacted her about 1 mile south of Mammoth Hot Springs.

A helicopter life-flighted her to the burn center at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

No further details are available at this time.
