Voisin claims silver at X Games Aspen

MISSOULA, Mont. - Whitefish native Maggie Voisin earned a silver medal Saturday afternoon at the 2014 Winter X Games in Aspen, Colorado. Voisin set the bar after the first round of competition. Her first run scored an 88, which was the highest score of any of her competitors. Then, in the second round, Voisin improved on that and posted a 90. Unfortunately for Voisin, her score didn't hold up in the second round. Canada's Kaya Turski, a four-time Winter X Games champion in slopestyle, posted a 91.33 to bump Voisin down to second place in the standings. In Voisin's final run of the day she finished with another score of 90. It wasn't enough to take over first place, but her score was still good enough to earn a silver medal at the 2014 X Games. With a second place finish Voisin is the younget skier to ever medal at the X Games. Voisin will be competing in slopestyle skiing at the Olympics, she will also be the youngest U.S. Athlete competing in Sochi.
